With Pacifica’s cooler evenings just around the corner, now’s the time to check your chimney sweep schedule. For most homes, a professional chimney sweep every 1–2 years is ideal, but Pacifica’s damp coastal climate and frequent fireplace use can mean more frequent cleanings. Watch for soot buildup, odd smells, or smoke backing into your home. Book a visit with Wesley and Cedillo Chimney LLC for a licensed, insured sweep tailored to your Pacifica home’s needs.
Pacifica’s Chimney Sweep Schedule: The Basics for First-Time Homeowners
If you’re new to Pacifica’s fireplaces, start with these simple rules: Sweep your chimney before your first fire of the season (fall), then again in spring if you used it often. Homes with gas fireplaces need annual checks, while wood-burning chimneys may need sweeps twice a year, especially in Pacifica’s humid climate, where creosote (a flammable tar) builds up faster. Our Pacifica team can inspect for hidden issues like cracks or blockages during your visit. Pro tip: If your chimney hasn’t been swept in over a year, schedule a free estimate, safety first, especially with Pacifica’s older homes near the bluffs.
3 Urgent Chimney Warning Signs Pacifica Homeowners Near the Bluffs Shouldn’t Ignore
Don’t wait for your scheduled chimney sweep Pacifica if you notice: 1) Smoke or strong odors in your home (common in Pacifica’s tight, older homes), 2) Excessive soot on your fireplace glass or ceiling (a sign of poor draft flow, worsened by Pacifica’s coastal winds), or 3) Animals nesting in your chimney (yes, it happens, our crew in San Bruno and Millbrae sees it often!). These are red flags for a blocked or unsafe chimney. Check our emergency tips if you’re unsure. For peace of mind, our CSFB-certified techs offer thorough inspections, ask about our training during your visit.
